I am looking to rent a car for a fly fishing trip to the Bob Marshall wilderness area in Montana. I am flying in to Spokane on July 14th and flying out on July 23rd. The problem that we are running in to is that both drivers would be 24. This means that we have to pay an additional fee. This has put the cost of renting a car astronomically high, especially considering that we will only be driving 12 hours over the course of 9 days. I work as a high school special education teacher through Teach for America, but am about to start law school this fall. The other rider is a 24-year-old safety engineer for Cargill, based in Cleveland, OH. We both have car insurance and AAA. We would be willing to pay a few hundred dollars.
