Title says it all, but is Comcast the only option for high-speed internet in Spokane? No DSL, right? What are people paying (if you don't mind) for Comcast high-speed? I don't know too much about the whole paying for high-speed internet thing (we had it included in our apt rent). TIA.

I mentioned this on another thread but we have Comcast and it definately serves the purpose. I have multiple sytems on a wireless network and it hasn't let us down and speed is not sluggish...

DSL I believe there is Qwest available in the Spokane area..and I believe Verizon ..

Contact them, could be some promo's going on for new customers..

Hughesnet is a satellite internet you can have installed on your house and get high speed internet. I have it here in Alaska and it works very well, it works just as well in Washinton if not better.

You don't need a phone line to make it work either, it transmits to space and back.... Pretty neat.

Qwest is an option here, however, I don't think Verizon is, and I know Verizon FIOS isn't.

I use my AT&T Aircard, that I also have ad-hoc'd to my girlfriend's laptop.

Unless it's false advertising, here is Verizon's link for Spokane, I don't use or desire, but the OP was asking.//

Verizon Deals for Bundled Service in Spokane (WA) (http://deals.servicebundles.com/bundle/wa-verizon-deals-spokane.html - broken link)

Hmmm, Verizon internet may be available in some parts of Spokane, but at least not at my house, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I just entered my address to see if I could get their internet and it said: We're sorry, but Verizon does not offer High Speed Internet in your area based on the address you entered below.

Oh well, I don't want it anyway.

I didn't get a letter about it, but my brother did. Apparently Verizon is selling off their internet/Fios and the television side of it might be kaput? The competitors are trying to make a big thing of it. We switched from the DSL because we needed new phone lines anyway. Didn't see any better speeds though, so it doesn't make much difference for me. I do have a problem with Comcast though. Long story, but they're in my personal dog house. Rather not give them my business if I don't have to. :~/ D

Hey Scott, Thanks fo the reply, I don't understand how that works. We don't have an ISP, but if we did get one, why would we then ask them to help us signup for DSL? Is this one of those DSL is better than cable things? Like would I signup for Internet service with Comcast, then ask 'em to sign me up for DSL with Qwest? I don't get it.
