the competitions, are at least competing - I agree there is a skill to it, but in the right context
when they're just cheerleading on the sidelines - nope.

Different sporting culture I guess - is cheerleading the main female "sport" in USA?

Aside from drunken-frat-girlishness, the main sports that girls play would probably be softball, volleyball, and soccer. Not sure about the order, though. There is also basketball, swimming, etc.

Oh, and ROLLER DERBY YEAH.

And I'll echo what some others have said: cheerleading, while always athletic, is only a sport at actual cheerleading competitions, much like a gymnastic meet.

Netball looks cool. I have been fascinated by Australia for some time.

Two questions:
1) Can you guys watch AMC or FX?
2) Is Obama the president there?

Netball is a great sport, but it dosen't get alot of TV coverage here.

1)No, but we would have similar channels on Foxtel (our main PayTV company) .
2)No. He should be though? cause he's more interesting than the weirdo's we currently have.

Netball is on Channel One now (Free to air 100% sports channel) and the ANZ Championships has been growing in popularity.

I believe the sport is now professional which will help.

It is very popular for girls - I played from around 8yr old to 26 yrs old ... and believe me it is competitive!

Haha KF. I'd trade Obama for Abbott/Gillard anyday.

I don't get Channel One where I live. I've only ever seen it on the ABC.
