I'll just start a thread that covers the tournaments throughout the world since there are very little tennis fans on the site, well very little who participate.
Right now Dubai (500), Acapulco (500), Delray Beach (250) are starting up.
I'll just mention the few players that I'm currently interested in as well as the top seeded players.
Federer, Djokovich, and Berdych are playing in Dubai. Of course, I'm rooting for Federer for the win. You can see the draws here, http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2011/495/mds.pdf
Dolgopolov and Ferrer are playing in Acapulco. I don't think Dolgopolov will reach the finals but I hope he goes far. I believe Ferrer won last year. You can see the draws here, http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2011/807/mds.pdf
Roddick (who just won Memphis) and Del Potro are playing in Delray. I hopw Del Potro goes far here as well, although I read that he was feeling his wrist, hope he doesn't injure his wrist again -- hate to see him go. You can see the draw here, http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2011/807/mds.pdf
Take your picks, discuss.
I'll post the women's later, I don't know, there just isn't any strong players or favorite players in women's tennis at the moment.

... guess not. :\
Forgot to mention that Murray and Nadal are not entered in any of the ongoing tournaments, the ones I listed above. I think I heard that Murray and Djokovic were going to play doubles, not sure.

Fed has relatively few points to defend until July, post-Wimbledon. Only 750 points, since he crashed out early at Indian Wells and Miami last year. Rafa has 4200 points to defend in the same stretch. If Rafa doesn't sweep the clay court season and Fed steps up, then Fed will inevitably regain the #1 ranking (assuming Djoker doesn't win the FO or Wimbledon!) He's only 1 week behind Sampras for the most weeks at #1. As a huge Fed fan, I sure hope he makes it.
The only tournament to keep an eye on this week is Dubai. If Djoker and Fed play in the final, it will be interesting to watch the outcome.

I doubt Fed will win the clay courts -- he hardly fairs well on clay. As much as I am a Fed fan, I think he's lost some edge. The commentators even refer to "Fed in his prime", but yes, he needs to step up -- a lot.
Eh, I don't really care if Djok and his fans win or if Djok and his fans reach #1. Not to be sore about it, but I do think his fans help him by being so loud and obnoxious to his opponent.
Anyways, if anyone wants to watch Dubai, you can watch it online on ESPN3 for free: Watch Live Streaming Tennis Online - ESPN3

I didn't say Fed would win on the clay courts, though he's been the second best clay courter in the world for the past 6 years. Had Rafa not been around, Fed would have won at least four FO's.
I'm saying Fed can make up a lot of points between now and July. I hope he does so.

And I agree that Djoker's family and coaching section are obnoxious in the extreme. I've seen them in person the last 3 years at the Indian Wells tourney and they are beyond rude. Fed and Rafa in person are really personable and nice. I'm not a Rafa fan, but he's very nice to the fans, patient and polite.

You misunderstand me, I was just stating my thoughts on that.

Yeah, I hate to judge a player by what his fans do but you have to wonder ... what draws those kind of characters to the game. As you said, even his box behaves in the same manner. It's dishonorable behaviour, it dishonors the game and its history, and more so the players. Which leads one to think why Djokovic hasn't said anything about it to his family -- his silence is his condoning such behaviour.
But also, why haven't any of the reporters mention any of this?
He keeps harping on about Serbia this and Serbia that and how much more of a drive to be a champion it is when one is poorer, yeah sure Djok -- so poor that you moved your ass to Monte Carlo -- give me a break.

Federer vs D-joke in the finals for Dubai.
Dolgopolov was taken out in the semis by Ferrer in Acapulco, Ferrer will be in the finals. It's awesome to watch him play, Dolgopolov that is.
And Del Potro will be in the semis in Delray; by the way, he's jumped over 100 positions in rankings -- almost back in form.

Well Federer lost, I guess he's going to drop to #3 in rankings for the moment. Federer makes brilliant shots at moments but unable to connect them, even at pivotal moments. He seems to have dropped his game after his monumental 16 grand slam wins.
Here's an interesting interview with Nadal, Tennis - ATP World Tour - Nadal-Federer Dominance Is Over, Declares Rafa
Adding: DelPotro looks really good, solid playing in Delray. I wonder if he's going to jump in rankings to the double digits if he wins Delray.

I don't follow the tournaments in the other countries so much (except of course for Wimbledon and the Australian Open). But that's just because I don't get those on cable, so I'm unable to watch. I must be a fair-weather tennis fan....
Miami starts on March 3rd, I believe. Make that the 26th...their players' list has Federer as #2 in the world, followed by The Djok (sorry). There's an awesome lineup. I sure wish I could see the whole tournament or at least all of the top seeds play.
I'm happy to see the Cjisters is still playing. Thought she was retiring after Australia because they wanted to have another baby. I'd love to see her retire as Number 1. Maybe she's decided to go one more year & try to regain that rank.
RE Djok's box:
But also, why haven't any of the reporters mention any of this? I think John McEnroe has mentioned it, but he was being PC about how he worded it. He said something to the effect of them being a loud and wild bunch.
