Evidently the organizers are having difficulty filling their entertainment card as the Sex Pistols have turned down their invite to appear at the closing ceremonies and their inquiry into Keith Moon's availability was rejected by his manager explaining that Mr Moon died in 1978.

London is more capable of putting on a great olympics than most cities, certainly more capable than Rio de Janeiro who is hosting it next and Athens, Sydney, Atlanta, Barcelona and Moscow who have hosted recent olympics.

I don't care for the Olympics. I just want to get my hands on one of the "offsides" Olympic coins.

I actually enjoy watching some of the events. But, I remember the previous Olympics having more hype. Maybe as it gets closer I'll start hearing more about the Olympics and such.

I like watching most of the events, especially the ice skating.

What puts a lump in my throat is the opening ceremony when all the teams from all the countries march in with their flags. That's one of the few times that I feel humanity is truly connected/united.

Echo the sentiment here. The opening ceremony is among my favourites. Can't wait for the Olympics to get started. Hope my country (India) wins at least a few medals.
