There are always going to be doubters as records are broken. What Lewis said is nothing new.

I'm proud to see Bolt and Blake run. Their performances are obviously the product of incredible training. They are tested for drugs and I assume that they're clean. Just pure hard work that paid off.

I'm also proud of the American men in that 4x100m relay. They were leading until the third leg when Blake caught Gay. As Bolt observed and noted, it was over then. Gay gave up the advantage that the first two runners provided. Tactical plan ruined. Bailey couldn't outrun Bolt on the flat.

Instead of trying to find fault with the Jamaicans, the American sprinters must go back to the drawing board. Whatever they're doing, is obviously not working to produce the superior sprinter. Maybe Lewis should focus on this instead. American sprinters need an entirely new approach to training and a better system for identifying and developing gifted sprinters. Maybe they should get over there and train with the Jamaicans.

The women were dominant and impressive. The men can learn from them too.

If you look at America's gold medals, women produced twice as many as men

Jamaica rarely does drug testing on their athletes.

Olympics-Jamaican sprinters should expect more drugs tests-Pound | Reuters

"No, they are one of the groups that are hard to test, it is (hard) to get in and find them and so forth," former World Anti-Doping Agency chief Pound told Reuters Television when asked whether he was happy with the way Jamaica tested its athletes.

Also interesting to note that Conte (former BALCO drug lab owner) claims that 60% of olympians are on steroids.

Here we go again.

Is there still anything worth believing in the British media during the Olympics? They suspect everyone who performs well, as long as it is not from a Western country.

I do believe the 60% thing, especially in athletics and swimming. Yes, they test, but it is not unimaginable that countries with the most advanced pharmaceutical technology can develop some drugs the tests can't find traces.

You don't have to be clean. You only need a drug that can beat the test system. And when it comes to that, who has the biggest advantage? See, the story can go both ways.

In the end, the prevalent test result is the only criterion, and anything else is just speculation and sometimes, sour grape. I trust the American anti-doping system no more than the Jamaican one, as everyone country has equal incentive to cheat. No one is morally superior. So stop judging others as if they are not trustworthy unless you have something solid.

When Americans lose, they lose. Learn to live with that. Not the end of the world. Stop looking for excuses.

Bolts best response was what he accomplished on the track something that no matter how they try to spin it, Carl Lewis was never able to achieve. He didn't beat Ben Johnson on the track Lewis won the 100m on a Johnson DQ. Bolt didn't just win, he demolished everyone who ran against him.

As for Jessie Owens, the clock knows no era, Bolt is the greatest sprinter to ever live.

This article sums it up well. How could one not question Bolt being on a performance enhancer.

"Anyone wasting words extolling the greatness of Usain Bolt should know better."

Jamaica’s Yohan Blake, who just won the silver in the 100 and 200, tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug prior to the 2009 World Championships. Teammates Julian Dunkley and Steve Mullings have also been caught doping.

What are the odds that a tiny, island country suddenly dominates global competition…just because?

I love Bolt and do worry that someday a drug test will spoil his rewards but until then, he is innocent and I simply love that type of speed. I wont put him on the greatest athlete pedestal but greatest sprinter, you bet.. greatest ever, no doubt!

You are acting like Jamaica just started producing world class runners. Just because they ran for other countries does not negate the fact that they were Jamaican. Did you just start following Track and Field last week?
