For those of you who ride BMX. Is this a good started one?

Thanks.

You might want to post this in the "Hobbies/cycling" section and maybe get more answers.
I don't know how tall your son is, so you might want to go to a bicycle store and get your son measured to see if 20" is appropriate for him. Also look into the weight and see if your 8 yr old son can handle the bike.

But, just looking back when I was 8 yrs old, if I was given this for my Bday, I would be jumping with joy

Steel frame is going to be heavy, which is going to make tricks very hard for an 8 year old.

I would have you get a used WeThePeople off ebay before buying that low end bike.

Brand New 2010 We The People Reason BMX Freestyle Bicycle Blue | eBay

Or if you are going to go steel, check out something a bit higher:

Thanks guys!

Grandpa already bought it for him. I'm not sure he will be doing much tricks but if he shows interest I will support him and get him the right bike and pay the money for it. ... right now he said he wanted a BMX so I'll see how he likes it. He is 4'3 and weighs 55 pounds.
