Yeah, the Pistons-Pacers brawl. I think that brawl was worse than Knicks-Nuggetts. Ron Artest, now known as Metta World Peace, was suspended for 86 games for his actions, would be a season ending suspension.

August 22, 1965. Juan Marichal, of the San Francisco Giants, clubbed catcher Johnny Roseboro, of the L. A. Dodgers, over the head with his bat. The teams were bitter rivals in the heat of a pennant race. Roseboro collapsed onto the playing field and Sandy Koufax, who had been throwing brush-back pitches at Marichal, came down from the mound to stop Marichal.

Ten year later, meeting at an old timers game, they shook hands. They went on to form a close friendship. When Roseboro died Marichal spoke at his funeral.

The most flagrant conduct from a Minnesota player was Ron Behagen's stomping of fallen Ohio State center Luke Witte, although there apparently had been some provocation on both sides leading up to the incident.

Both men advanced into the NBA, but Behagen enjoyed a much longer career; Witte operated a sporting goods store prior to retirement and lives quietly, but Behagen was convicted of a credit-card-theft incident a few years ago.

Reconciliation or not, it really bothered me to see a hothead who would commit assault with a deadly weapon during the course of a baseball game being inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside a total gentleman like Brooks Robinson.

Kerrigan's incident wasn't "unsportsmanlike behavior" it was a premeditated criminal act. Not downplaying other events or anything. But there is a bit of difference.

Plus I am also going to assume that every Broncos fan remember Bill Romanowski spitting into JJ Stokes' face.

I wouldn't really call the brawl in Detroit as unsportsmanlike, it had zero to do with sports or the game. You toss a beer in someones face you get what you get. They should have let the players beat down the the fools tossing beer. Lotta 'tough' guys hiding behind a crowd and a cup.
