I guess I've just never watched enough football to notice.

I grew up in a football-loving home. I religiously watched football for years. Became a Packer fan and a shareholder. Now I haven't watched a game, college or pro, in probably five years. I feel burned out on it as well. Lots of reasons why. We don't even have cable anymore.

I like watching USC football. Not a big follower of the NFL although when Pete Carrol moved over to the Seahawks I started watching them. The Cowboys train here every year and it is fun to go to training camp. Now with the Rams back in LA we are seeing more of an upswing in people talking about football. Although many here are into the Raiders and the Chargers.

During the season I will continue to watch the games, although my family is first. My wife hates football season. If she has something planned I will turn off the game and walk away. I figure that eventually I can watch an entire season. Maybe when the kids are bigger. I am not a fan that will let a game get in the way of a family activity. In today's world that is not too hard. I have a phone and can get updates or watch most games. LOL

I switched over to soccer. Much more interesting to watch because the game is constant and flowing. American football has become boring because it's now two seconds of play and two minutes of commercial time outs.

to beat burnout, I've found that I've stopped watching all pre-game shows, all post game highlight shows, stopped playing fantasy football, barely read the newspaper, stopped my usual team message board postings.....just will turn on my team's game at kickoff and turn off when it's all over.

on another note, I tell you this kneeling down and not standing for the National Anthem has got me irked......won't tolerate if I see a lot of players getting involved....will boycott the product completely (and save a few hundred dollars in tickets in the process).....

I didnt watch much football at all for about 5yrs and only just went back to it a couple of seasons ago. I definitely enjoy it more after taking a break but holy cow the marketing. I swear there werent this many commercials 5yrs ago. There were always tons but now they are wedging them in every possible corner.

Lol..I just quit on hockey this year. They took a great cult sport and made it into a boring, bland...no intensity skatefest... BYE
