First Class Cricket ( 4 Day ) is the base of any Cricket Association. Local Associations maintain their facilities out of hosting Domestic competitions. Players come out of First Class Cricket. Due to rotation policy, local associations get funded for hosting Test and One Day and they pass on the profit by organising Domestic First Class Cricket.

Any T20 Franchise barely lease out stadium facilities for few days. Players make money for few weeks.

If you ask IPL Franchise to build or maintain any stadium, find new players - they will all close their shop.
For now, yes.
Once IPL grows to say NFL/NBA/EPL levels then it will be a very different story.
In soccer, European clubs bring players as children and develop them into adult stars with little involvement from the country football associations. Now they don’t do that for every player but the time is coming when IPL will be wealthy enough to do the same

However, other countries can command more money for tests involving India because due to the huge Indian market even a small percentage of them buying the tv package is still a huge amount of income for other country cricket boards. This is why India will tour Sri Lanka and Bangladesh several times but rarely invite them to India to play, simply because those countries will be able to make more money selling the test package involving India for big bucks. This is also the “carrot” that BCCI uses to either reward (sri Lanka/Bangladesh) or punish (South Africa)
Heh, I realized later the India v. West Indies series I referenced actually took place in Jamaica, though you wouldn't know it seeing mostly light blue jerseys in the crowd (I'm guessing Indian ex-pats flying down from USA for the most part) and the ads on the field and boundary walls.

200,000 have turned up to the MCG for another Aussie demolition of the number 2 ranked Test team New Zealand. If they could make it to a 5th day, obviously they would get more.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/...d-ease-player/

ECB is backing plans for 4 day Test match starting from 2023.
I oppose this plan as it would increase probability of Draw. I guess last Ashes Series would have ended 0-0 in that case. Spectators who are not coming for 5 day will not come for 4 day either.
Lack of spectators should be accepted as a challenge - there are other reasons behind this.
Just changing the rules, like they did for Fieldhockey, will repel even the traditionalists.

It doesn't look to me like those supporting the proposal are worried about attendance so much as scheduling issues and player workload. Maybe there will be more draws, on the other hand maybe there will be more scoring action too as batsmen have more impetus to swing at the ball from time to time instead of just having a standoff with the bowler half the time.

That Australian summer is the worst thing that has ever happened to Test Cricket.
Every day of every match was predictable, and Australia didn't even play great.
The lowest quality summer ever.

Which summer? This current one? You don't think Australia have performed well? The best bowling line up in the world is always going to be tough to handle in home conditions.

There was some unpredictable elements, like the Kiwi captain winning the toss and sending us in. Hard to recover from that decision. If you win the toss in Australia, you bat. Period.

Australia haven't had to perform well, because New Zealand is playing as poorly as Pakistan did.
This is the lowest standard of cricket we've seen in an Australian summer in the 2000s.

I won't try and dissuade you from your opinion, but I do think you are underplaying the quality of the Australian team in this equation. This is an exceptional bowling attack who has performed exceptionally well.
