Maybe somebody can invent a lightweight washable respirator mask that sports cans can wear comfortably to a game while also protecting themselves from airborne transmission of viruses? Something that can be decorated with team colors, for example.

Why not just use a clear plastic bag?

The goal is to screen out airborne droplets, not to asphyxiate the wearer.

Better use of time & money would be to find a cure/vaccine for the virus.

It's just sports.

Basically if you have a baseball, basketball, soccer, football, hocky, golf, or NASCAR event, all you're doing is creating a freaking petri dish with 15,000-200,000 new potential hosts for a virus to spread to.

What's more, because it's just sport, that means it's just entertainment. And athletes, announcers, crews, and stadium personnel don't need to risk their health and that of others just so you can get your sports fix.

Read a book. Watch Netflix. Whatever. We'll all survive this.
