This is so true and now, more than ever, people are exhausted from the barrage of political statements made during sporting events. I wonder if the merchandising has taken a hit.

I gave up sports this summer with the whole "woke" trend. I am finding that I dont miss it at all and am happier without being glued to the TV for hours and hours.

I haven't really watched MLB, NHL, or NBA since they started/restarted and really don't have a desire too, however I'm really enjoying NFL football being back on. Doesn't hurt that my team is 4-0 either

Am so glad the OP thinks we will do fine without sports, but I guess most of us are thrilled to have it back. I can't think of a better way than enjoying sports on the weekend, if no other time. It is a American tradition. I will say, I will never watch pro basketball again but otherwise, so far, so good.

I think the NBA finals have had one of the lowest finals viewer rating since the 80's.

It can't go low enough for me. Since they're so hell bent on interjecting their politics, the basketball fans are showing them how they feel about that.

The damage control the NBA is going to need to do to get relevant in the eyes of their overall fan base is going to be interesting to watch.
