In any event, he plays Dubai next week and in the meantime, some great tennis being played this week and last.
I had forgotten how heavy the schedule is/was now that things are semi-normal.
Three ATP events last week, four this week.
Good times.

Congratulations to Felix on his first win, at a 500 no less.
He’s looking good so far this week as well.
Good points. Mask mandates being lifted and country leaders now saying life should get back to normal. Australia was the big loser in this fiasco.

Nadal beat Medvedev at Mexico SF, now Nadal is 5-1 vs. Medvedev, and all their meetings were on hardcourt!

I really feel for him and for Medvedev. Horrible position to be in.
I read that Novak reached out to a recently retired Ukrainian player who has decided to travel to his homeland to fight. Having grown up in the environment he did, I imagine it must bring back terrible memories for him.

And, in the ongoing saga…
Some not too surprising news, given recent numbers, from Eurosport:

“Novak Djokovic appears free to defend his Roland Garros title after France relaxed its rules surrounding Covid vaccine passports.”

https://www.eurosport.com/tennis/rol...14/story.shtml

Anyway, looking forward to Indian Wells. It’s one of my favorite tournaments, regardless of who plays.

For those who prefer best of three, the "Fifth Slam" is currently active at Indian Wells CA. Great matches. The best ones are on Tennis Channel, but you can catch matches on free TV on what's called the Regional Sports network - SunHD in my area.

I know everyone is high on Alcaraz, but I think the American Korda will be the next big thing in tennis and dominate the slams after Nadal retires in 2024 or whenever.
