Nadal won his 20th straight match, with a 64 46 63 victory over Alcaraz.
The 2nd Set was a lottery, as extreme wind made serving very dicey.
Conditions calmed in the 3rd Set.
Nadal will play Fritz in the Final.

Fritz def. Nadal 63 76(5)
Fritz hit with incredible power and pierced the wind, while Nadal was very error-prone and got treatment for injury-

Ash Barty has just announced her retirement from tennis.
Quite a shock to us here.

And Nadal's got a stress fracture in the rib, expected to be out 4-6 weeks, although probably less because its a basic injury to an advanced athlete, maybe 3-4 weeks.
Madrid Masters is May 1st, so if he resumes training by about April 20th, he'll play Madrid, otherwise return at the Rome Masters.

Retired at the top of her game. She sais she wants to pursue other dreams. Good luck to her in retirement.

Barty probably won't come back ever again, because she's already been retired and knows what its like, so unlikely to regret it.

I agree but think we will hear a lot more from her in other ways. She is extremely popular here because of her personality and she is keen to work with Indigenous kids, in particular. She is getting married later in the year, lives in a very average sort of area and is close to her family. As she said she wants other things from life now.

Speaking of popularity, how is Nick Kyrgios received? His serve is a thing of beauty, and when he's on he seems unbeatable. He's the one I'd want to watch in a best of three match. On the flip side....choose your punchline. I like to think that Nick learned on court behavior from the Lleyton Hewitt/John McEnroe school of of tennis etiquette (pardon my attempt at humor).

He's always "on" when he plays Nadal, except Nadal leads their h2h 6-3
There isn't much to be hopeful about if you are a Kyrgios fan, he's only made TWO quarter-finals at slams, 2014 Wimbledon and 2015 AO.
Australian tennis is in a very sad state, if he's their biggest hope....

Alcaraz seems to be living up to the hype. Just upset your namesake at Miami.
The people wanting best of three tennis should be enjoying some of the matches from Indian Wells and Miami. For example, I can't remember a more entertaining two set match than Kyrgios-Sinner. Felt like McEnroe-Borg.
