Rublev also qualifies for Turin.
Another Frenchman Moutet has just beaten Norrie, in a minor upset, finishing past 3am in the morning local time.
The French crowd cheering on like a Davis Cup or a football/ soccer match!

Dimitrov is normally pretty good indoors, so would have to fancy his chances there.
Alcaraz obviously still the favorite though.

Very interesting, if Alcaraz reaches the SF at Paris, then he'll only need to win 2 round robin matches at Turin (although that might not be easy, given how strong the field is this year) to wrap up the year-end-#1 even if Nadal goes undefeated.
So Dimitrov can really throw a spanner into the works with a win over Alcaraz in R16, and Rublev in QF is also dangerous.

I was really surprised to see Medvedev losing his match yesterday against de Minaur. I was expecting him to make it to the semi-finals at least. For me, now this title will go to either Djokovic or Alcaraz.

Yeah that was De Minaur's first win ever over a top 5 player.
De Minaur was hitting more powerfully than I've ever seen him.

Bercy final:
Djokovic vs Rune
In other news Carlos Alcaraz has pulled out of the Davis Cup and the ATP finals in Turin , due to an abdominal muscle tear.
It looks like Taylor Fritz gets in at Turin as the first alternative.
Bad luck to Carlos, hopefully he recovers well, but well done to Taylor.

Nadal wins his 6th year-end-#1 if he reaches the Final of Turin (and goes 3-0 in Round Robin, which he did in 2010, 2013 and 2015).
If Nadal loses a Round Robin match then he'll need to win Turin.

Holger Rune wins the Paris Masters.

Great victory for this up and coming youngster.
He’s now the next alternate for Turin as well, should anyone else pull out.
