I don’t know. Are they capable of playing that long? A lot of the women look downright exhausted and worn out after a 3 set match. Imagine if they had to play 5 like the men do!

Two things

1- Wasn't Osaka #1 in the world at some point? Now unranked and out in the 1st round. What happened? Seems like the physical ability is there - but maybe dealing with maturity issues.

2- Is this culturally appropriate in the Czech culture? Follow the hands in the video... This is after Sara Bejlek won her match. She is 16. I'm not judging - I'm asking.

She looked like she enjoyed it, just from her body language, doesn't seem to be a problem.
I don't know Czech culture, but in America the pro footballers and pro basketballers do it a lot to each other.

Yeah, that was a prolonged grab, squeeze, and giggle move from both older men, not just the typical "American" butt slap after a nice sports play. Not sure if it is "cultural" or "sports related" but there are lot of other places to grab a person to show them affection/support.

It's pretty obvious she wasn't bothered, which probably means she is touched that way frequently, so I guess draw your own conclusions.

I think you answered your own question. Serena won 12 majors before she really decided to dedicate herself to being the best.....after which she won 11 more while aged 30+. Add in the doubles titles, multiple gold medals, and sheer dominance over the other "top players" of her time, and I think Serena deserves the title.

Graf has a good case too though.

Exactly. Anyway, the concept of calling any tennis player The Greatest is extremely disrespectful. Especially in this case when there is no proof of Serena being head and shoulders above the rest. I think the US Open is hyping her as The Greatest, just to suck up to her, because they know she has the biggest ego in the world.

I don't follow golf close closely, so I don't have an opinion on that one.

Sure, if Graf kept playing maybe the argument is more one-sided in her favor. It is a bit unfortunate that GOAT status does sometimes depend on how long you choose to play, but it is a factor. Maybe prime Peyton Manning was better than prime Tom Brady, but Tom played at a high level for much longer and his ring count reflects that (for example.)
