And why? You can use quotes to back it up or just the overall gameplay structure of the sport

Life can be either a race or a fight

Auto racing: "Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting"

MMA: Life is a fight over limited and finite resources

Life is literally a fight over territory, limited resources, food, shelter, water, so technically capitalism is literally life's core existential structure, not in an economical sense, but you get the point

As for the racing aspect, life is moreso an emotional ride or a marathon than a straightup race against time, but point still stands

What about you, what sport do you think represents the mere essence of life?

Life is like Olympic Ski Jumping.

At first you shoot toward the stars, your dreams in sight. Then you hit middle-age, and it is all downhill from there with high probability for a hard landing if not a crash.

Auto racing: "Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting".

Bar none, the best auto racing movie every made.

Everybody laughed at Steve McQueen but what they failed to realize is that the cars ARE the main characters. That is why there is sparse dialogue and little sound track. Directors kept wanting to shove humans into the movie and give them their own stupid subplots.

McQueen fought for and got what he want. Basically an exciting live-action documentary of a LeMans race without the boring technical bits.

I never tire of watching LeMans no matter how many times I have seen it before. Grand Prix is good but LeMans is racing movie Perfection.

I had such high hopes for "Ford v. Ferrari" and it turned out to be just another stupid Hollywood movie about people with hardly any racing going on at all. They should have modeled it after LeMans -- lots and lots of racing action. Between mock ups and CGI, it would not have been all that expensive.

LeMans. Best. Racing. Movie. Ever.

Man, I should rewatch it tonight. Time to break out the DVD.

What does life feel like to you? A fight? A race? Maybe a test of endurance? Perhaps just about any sport could describe life vert well

So basically an emotional roller coaster?

Baseball.

It's played without a clock.

It's a simple game. You throw the ball. You hit the ball. You catch the ball.

You win 20 in the show and you can let fungus grow on your shower shoes and the press will think you're colorful. Until you win 20 in the show it means you're a slob.

You get a hanging curve on an 0-2 pitch, hit it.

I just want to give it my best shot and the good lord willing things will work out.

You got to play them one day at a time.

Sometimes you win. Sometimes you lose. Sometimes it rains.

One more dying quail a week and you're in Yankee Stadium.

You get in a fight with a drunk, you don't hit him with your pitching hand.

Marathon

Has everyone from average Joes, to the 1%, to those with disabilities. Some want to win & have no problems cheating. Others are there to just enjoy it. Some don't even want to be there & just go through the motions & get it over with because someone lured them in.

Race starts off & you feel good. Have hope. Have dreams. But soon you get battered & beat up. You make some friends for a few miles, then lose them. It doesn't take long before you question everything. You watch to see how some are truly gifted for this, running sub 5 miles, & others no matter how hard they try & train aren't going to break 4 hours.

By mile 20 you're hurting, confused, & delusional like having dementia. You just want to get the finish & end the suffering. Friends & family are there to cheer you on to tell you to try harder, but you have a different agenda at that point.
