Top picks in alphabetical order:

#17 Derma Sotogake (first time a #17 wins the Kentucky Derby?)

# 9 Skinner

If by any slight chance also eligible #22 Mandarin Hero gets in then he is added to those 2.

A very weak Derby this year but a competitive field.

Working on an Oaks - Derby Double and others may be included as back up. These are current top picks.

In the Oaks top picks also in alphabetical order are:

#1 Mimi Kakushi (throwing in this unknown as there is not much to beat here)
#4 Southlawn
#7 Wet Paint

Default Lord Miles and Practical Move are Scratched

#22 Mandarin Hero got in!

I think he's a top contender but I am using the other two I mentioned as well.

Considering others but backups only.

Default Continuar Out, #23 King Russell Is In

Breaking - 3 scratches in one day! All 3 from the also eligible list got in.

By all reports Continuar has been training very poorly.

Final back ups:

Two Phil's
Tapit Trice
Angel Of Empire

I am not playing the 3-1 ML favorite Forte. Predicting his win streak ends Saturday. If he wins, oh well...

#2 Verifying threw his exercise rider off today and went a little crazy. I did not like what I saw. I had no intentions of playing him anyway.

The horse, thank goodness, was not injured but the exercise rider suffered a dislocated shoulder.

Forte is scratched. Came up with a foot issue yesterday.

Skinner scratched yesterday due to an elevated temperature.

18 horses currently scheduled to run.

I saw that those little dwarfs that ride the horses during the race get a percentage of the win, taking home up to 186,000 for first place
Lots of money for a gnome.

And probably goes pretty far too, in their underground world......

I did not realize it but they all have pointed ears.....just that the tops are covered by that helmet they wear when racing.
