I have never liked Stephen A's delivery, so...I mostly do not pay attention to what he is saying, when I happen to see him on air.

Good deal for all parties.

This seemed inevitable. They had way too many people on payroll.

Hiring former players as analysts is nothing new, but ESPN took it to a new level. At first, it seemed you needed to be a really good player to get one of these jobs, which meant something like multiple All-Star selections (C. Webb, Reggie), championships (the Jet), MVP (Sir Charles) or ATG (Shaq). Then all of a sudden we started seeing guys like Brendan Haywood and Caron Butler. These networks, and ESPN in particular, sorta became a retirement home/supplementary pension for players with rather unremarkable careers.

Maybe he's mellowed but he was always yelling some garbage like a carnival barker...<click>.

It's like if you yell it emphatically, it makes up for a comment being really stupid?
