Her defense won her the match. Amazing ability to return her opponent’s balls.

Coco was FAST on the court and her reflexes were insane! And she read Sabalenka’s game so well to the point where Sabalenka was flustered and didn’t know what to do.

Great win for Coco. I was surprised to read that she was the first teenager to win since Serena...that's a really long time. I guess I'm aging myself since I remember a time when it seemed like all the top female tennis players were already dominant as teenagers; the Williams sisters, I remember Martina Hingis being 16 or something. Monica Seles is another one.

She is the first American teenager to win since Serena.

Raducanu was a teenager when she won two years ago, but she’s British.

I used to be a CoCo fan but her head got too big, she brags to the interviewers she's the best doubles player, blames her partner in mixed doubles for their loss, no other player acts that way and I've been a tennis fan for years. I hope Madison wins.
Again I had a problem with Coco's comments. She lambasted her critics for not believing in her, it sounded like she has a chip on her shoulder, her win should have been enough for her to show them how good she really is. Maybe it's just her immaturity at 19 yrs old. Anyway, great win, she deserved it.

I was actually one of those people who didn't think she would win; at least not this time. Not that I didn't want her to win; I actually wanted her to win. But I thought Sabalenka has been playing on much a higher level.

If you watched the first round between her and Siegemund, she didn't play that well in that round. But Coco obviously raised her level and fought real hard to win, so definitely an amazing achievement for her.

I was very impressed with her post-match comments. She showed much maturity for someone of her age.

I agree - I thought she would get destroyed by Sabalenka. Coco's defensive play and Sabalenka's erratic play both were key in this match. Coco made a believer out of me. If she can keep this level of play up, she's going to do very well in her career.

I saw that match, I never thought Coco would win, especially with Siegemund's antics regarding the time clock and Coco being so worked up about it. It seems like when Coco loses the first set, she adjusts and figures out how to beat her opponent, like Djokovic does.

When Sabalenka asked for a medical time out, whether it was "gamesmanship or not" I thought the match would turn in Sabalenka's favor, thankfully it didn't.

Interestingly, WatsonX picked Gauf to win at 65%, I was surprised and thought "no way" before the match started, this time AI was correct.
