There sure was some questionable officiating going on in Monte Carlo. I guess "Hawk-Eye" will be used at all ATP tour events starting next year so that'll help. But it wasn't just bad line calls. Another issue that stood out was Holger Rune getting a code violation for making a gesture telling the crowd to be quiet, but when Djokovic stared down a spectator and ranted at him including screaming "shut the f*** up" there was no penalty.
Yeah he did, gotta stay relevant with these guys 4-5 years younger than him. I will be interested to see what happens with the big ticket events, Olympics concluded. The early season has been anyone's game, very interested to see if Novak still has it in him to lock down and win a gold medal, another Slam or two, and if not if any of the youngsters assert themselves or if we fall back to parity among the top 5 or so.

After Nadal's 1st Round victory over Flavio Cobolli he said he was saving himself for Madrid and Rome-
“There were things [I could have done] today that [could have given] me the possibility to play better today, but don’t give me the possibility to play the next day or the next couple of days, or in terms of weeks, in Madrid or Rome."

And that is why he lost his 2nd Round match... he's focused on Madrid and Rome, and was pacing himself and holding himself back vs. De Minaur.
And it appears Nadal would have won if he gave full physical effort, because that 1st Set was a very close 7-5.

He is saving whatever he has for Paris so he can die on the court, or some such reference. Nadal was not happy when Tsitispas tried to compliment him by saying he should be considered a contender in these tournaments, rightly saying he would be the underdog against De Minaur. This is a farewell tour year.

Yeah, he deserves a bigger title than a 250, and is very good on clay.
Tsitsipas has lost a whole heap of 500 finals though now.

That was an impressive win for Nadal against de Minaur who recently beat him at the Barcelona Open.

I'd never seen this Pedro Cachin play before, but he's really good, was ranked 48 last year in August, and is a specialist on clay so great test for Nadal.
