I think Chicago could support a second NBA team...
As a Chicagoan, I think the Chicago area could do it since it has the underserved and ever-expanding suburban population that is larger than nearly all of the other markets just standing by itself, there was some discussion about this when the Grizzlies moved from Vancouver to Memphis, the Bulls haven't failed to sell out a game in over a couple years (and that's when they were simply putrid - during the Michael Jordan era, the Bulls would've been able to sell out places the size of Soldier Field on a nightly basis several times over) and the area would certainly be a better market for 2 teams than L.A. However, I think (1) the NBA is more focused on adding new markets and (2) Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the Bulls, has a ton of influence among league owners and would uneqivocally kill that type of proposal sight unseen.
I am opposed to adding more franchises to the same area! How annoying! there are plenty of other great cities in this country (and canada) that would be great places to have franchises for any sport and be succesful that dont have a current franchise in that sport.
I think Las Vegas, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Tucson, and Norfolk all should get at least one of the four pro teams.....rumor has it the Sonics may go to Vegas? that true?
Stern and Bennett gave an immediate public response to the ridiculous assumptions about the move to Las Vegas. This was put together by two people to cause drama. They were also from seattle. OKC is still the top choice for Bennett. We have to go by public messages that are spoken and not rumors. Stern said in public that OKC will be the next destination for the NBA. Bennett is a vocal leader in OKC and is a resident along with his other investers. Bennett has always proclaimed the OKC market is ready for the pros and has a personal interest. By putting the puzzle together, then anyone should be able to see the situation. If Bennett decides otherwise then we will know by a public annoucement. Until then- this is all anyone should know.
Thank You Synopsis for your support.Coming from a Tulsan its appreciated
