I'll watch ever second of every televised minute of the Masters. The sport is bigger than any one player.

I will too and I agree, but I get why him missing it is a story. For all the awful sensationalism and dumb reporting nowadays, I don't think this is one of those things.

The way this is going, Tiger's last major win could be at age 33. That's insane to think about with where we were.

I remember him going "balls to the wall" with that swing when he was twenty something - guess he's paying for his style of hitting the ball - as well as poor decisions about what fitness/training - not sure which is more responsible for his ailment - maybe both.

The sad thing is that many will see him not eclipsing Jack's record as a "failure". Even though his 14 is pretty damn good. Only 3 people have double digit majors. And of the active golfers, he's got almost 3x as many as the next guy (Phil at 5).

Agreed. I recall during his first few years on Tour, commentators would often talk about on how his back will hold up over his career. I guess we're starting to see that now.

And if you believe in Haney's book (which I never read), he claimed that Woods sustained some of the injuries trying to train with the SEALs. I think Wood's camp denied those claims.

Personally - I'd like to see Dufner or Watney have a good showing. Albeit I'm not sure if Watney's back is good to go...

I never said I wasn't going to watch it.. heck no.. I live for the Masters. I'm just pointing out that it won't have its usual flare without him, amazing this would have been his 20th Masters.

However... the casual golf fans may not tune in, that's just a fact.

His fitness/training routines are only poor because it's clear that it's really not for a golfer. He's probably the most fit player on tour but when you've got all those muscles to work with in regards to the golf swing there's a lot more that can go wrong.

Many golf trainers are definitely seeing this and coming up with ways for golfers and tour pros to train, be fit, but creating a routine that should hopefully prevent injuries like what Tiger is experiencing.

I saw something the other day where somebody had mentioned that Tiger's back issue could possibly be worse then what Freddie experienced..... if that's the case..... ooooh boy.
