Reed had his family escorted off the course grounds when they were in attendance for one of his matches. That's pretty bad. To have the cops and security kick them out is not cool. Stealing and cheating in the past, almost getting kicked out of 2 colleges because he is such a pain as a teammate. Face it Reed is a jerk, in 20 years after a great career he'll probably have regrets about how he treated his family.

Like I said unless you are in the immediate family, none of us knows the true story. There's probably a half a dozen people that know what the truth is, and none of them post on this forum, I am sure.

Exactly - I've read different versions. Some said it was Reed's wife that had them escorted off. And that the wife plays a vital part in the estrangement (exactly what - who knows). In either case, it's a personal/private issue. They're the ones that have to deal with it.
Still not a fan of him (for reasons other than his family). But you certainly have to respect the performance he put up to win the green jacket.
I'm watching the Open de Espana and the RBC - my new hobby is watching golf. I regret that I am 50 and my dad is 90 and we never spent more time together either watching or playing golf. What a great sport for fathers and daughters to share. It's strange getting older and seeking things to have in common. He recently had to give up golf after 84 years due to balance issues. I found a book online, Rough Meditations by Bradley Klein that was a nice light read. I bought it and read it then sent it to California to my dad where he thoroughly enjoyed it.
I became interested in football as my mom is a die-hard Patriots fan. It gives us something to talk about and as we live together and I am her primary care giver, football has become a welcome topic of conversation. I know this is a golf forum, but I was wondering, do any of you or have any of you become interested in golf as a way to talk to your elderly parents? One member her suggested a book my Jack Nicklaus to share with my dad, which I have ordered two copies of so we can read them together.
Anyway, I am just curious and enjoying greatly watching golf. Last weekend I watched the Masters for the first time in my life. All 4 days and what a thrill. I would like to play one day, despite the fact my ex husband told me my boobs were too big. Screw him - that's why he is my EX husband.
hahaha exactly why he's your ex! If you have an interest in golf you should definitely give it a try. It's a fun game and if you walk good exercise. The FLA is great place to take up the game. So many courses. You might want to travel up the coast to St Augustine and the world golf village. That's pretty neat. The Hall of Fame is there as well so a great history lesson.
Glad golf is a bridge to a new relationship with your dad. That's very nice. I played with my dad only a few times. Long story but never happened enough which is too bad. Played with my mom a bunch but she was only in it to walk around and look at flowers and trees! lol Fun though.
If you enjoyed the Masters wait until the US Open and the Open championship. Those bring a true challenge to the players and lots of action.
I've been fortunate that I started playing golf at 12 yrs old and went out w/ my father and we continued to play for decades all around the world, really. We also went to Masters, The Players, Valspar (Tampa) PGA events as well as Euro events in Germany. He's still playing (81 yr old). Me? After about 30 yrs, I don't play much anymore. Lost interest. Last played during travel in a variety of states, but mostly for the walking, exercise. I still watch the big golf tournaments - watched rd 4 Masters w/ father. It was pretty much we had in common. One of the few things other than military service.
Whatever happened to Jason Day....T20th Masters. Not sure about the other events this past year, but he was supposed to be part of the new breed taking over for TW.....
