Great event, congratulations to Taiwan! Thanks for posting.
I think it's about high time that this sport was reinstated back into the Olympics as it has a rich and storied history. It was held in every single Olympic Games from 1900 through 1908. Who could ever forget the memorable 1908 Gold Medal Match pitting the hated rivals from England: The London Police vs. The Liverpool Police squads. The difference in the end undoubtedly was the London Captain and Squat-Grunter, Edwin "Lead-Butt" Mills.
Of course the TOW Federation doomed the sport's legitimacy by adopting a clause that unintendedly abolished team size limits through a technicality in the verbiage. The resulting fiasco when the newly formed Chinese team numbering 300,000,000 team members showed up in Stockholm in 1912 was all too predictable.
It would be bitter-sweet for me if it does get reinstated, for I long ago quit competitive participation since my injury in day-camp at Moir Park back in 1966. However, I still carry my rope with me where-ever I go and am always ready for an impromptu recreational match. If you see a guy waiting for a bus in downtown Minneapolis with a rope over his shoulder, pull over for a quick tug.
