Plus there are other announcers that even use that term that Berman uses.

What Berman, and a lot of these folks don't seem to get, is the clever 'catch phrase' is funny about twice. Use it once and be smart enough to come up with something new. They don't. It gets beyond annoying 100000000x in.

Brent Musburger is horrible and boring.

Do not like Berman either but Musberger seems to always take one teams side or the other during the entire game which is stupid.

His comment in week one that Ohio State will likely lose 2-3 games this year so far has proven he hates the Buckeyes and that he does not know college football well.

I cannot see them losing 3 games.

Then he made the comment that Oregons defense has really improved and is one of the best in the country this year. Not so.

YES Liked Madden Summerall, Madden, Madden was entertaining.
Lundquist is just an old washed up has been who needs to retire.

Madden was great. Hey, we'll never see "Verne Lunquist Football" But maybe he could apply for the late Chris Schenkel's job on pro bowl tour. About Lundquist's speed, although Bowling might be a bit of a challenge for him. After all, he seems too senile for football already.....

But still I like Lundquist but I'm sure he'll retire after college basketball. But do you like Chris Berman or Joe Buck? If neither, why? I also like Rich Waltz.

Joe Buck, kind of boring. JACK BUCK on the other hand, I admired. I still have my St Louis Cardinals hat that he and several Cards players autographed at Spring Training. Joe Buck really does not have enough insight or perhaps personality to stand out.

Cosell did, love him or hate him, you could not ignore him.

Chris Berman...I agree, he needs to get off the He could go all the way stuff. Big complaint I have about Lundquist, saying "Stellar" 1to 200 times in some broadcasts, then in others, just not knowing what is going on..TOUCHDOWN no wait no... yes? no WHat happened? Last time, before I could get the sound off, they had the microphone on, Lundquist, poor guy is going senile, dropped an F Bomb, didn't even know he was on air. Neither did his partner, he was talking like he was totally lost with the broadcast.... Poor senile old man, he probably has early stages of Alzheimer's which is NOT a laughing matter.

I have crossed paths with Dick Vitale several times when I lived in Sarasota. He is one of those celebrities, who, like Jerry Springer, who acts offended if someone does not know who he is. Almost like he wants you to say DICK BAY- BeY YEAH!! Well, I do not get into college basketball to say one way or another whether he is a good announcer, but he can be rather obnoxious in person.

I met Merle Harmon once at the opening of one of his stores. He was the nicest, most down to earth guy imaginable, a true gentleman, and full of great stories to tell, and he told them well!!!!! My life was better having spent time listening to him.

A lot of people say that Buck is the worst announcer; they also think that Buck is annoying. What do you have to say about Buck and who do you think is the worst of all time?
Right now Buck & McCarver are the worst tandem. I can't even watch the playoff games because of them
Miller & Morgan on ESPN were 100 times worse, but at least ESPN canned them.
I don't like Musburger, but at least he has a good partner in Kirk Heirbstreit for football and Bob Knight for basketball, so I can live with him until/if he gets paired with someone else.
For college basketball, Duke homers Jay Williams and Jay Bilas get annoying rather easily. I don't mind Vitale as much as some people do. I'd MUCH rather listen to him than Williams or Bilas that's for sure.

I thought he was kind of funny at first, but he tries way too hard now, and his articles just turn into silly asides to his own personal life that you should include maybe once in every column you write.

Simmons is god-awful on NBA countdown on ESPN, but at least 99.9% of his columns are good to read.
