You hear it all the time...

"Soccer's for [insert derogatory, insulting name for men]"
or
"Football is for Men. Soccer is for INTELEGENT men."
and of course,
"[insert any sport] is boring/stupid/and even fixed."

Several sports fans around the globe can be very passionate. But sometimes, that passion spills over to downright disgust. We can be VERY ugly people at times. Over a GAME nonetheless.

Look, there's nothing wrong with a little good natured ribbing. But when we spill over into pure stupidity and violence... even resulting in death, sometimes. OVER A FRIGGIN' GAME! It's one thing to have fanatic gang members and houliganism, but even the smallest things can make us look like jackasses.
EVERY single sport, from Auto Racing to Volleyball (even Pro Wrestling to a certain extent) takes a certain amount of athleticism, skill, and hard work/dedication to master it. NO sport is degrading and none of the players who play that game should be seen as inferior or weak. Like football, soccer, and rugby. Certain people trash those sports only because they don't like them. They're three different sports played different ways, but they all came from the same type of game AND they're all very tough sports to play. I'll get into those three later.
And for those of you who hate a sport becasue it's "boring"... ANY sport can be boring. It depends more on the person than the game itself when you think about it. It depends on what you can and can't tolerate, IMO.
If you hate a sport because "it has too many off the field issues with its players".... again, EVERY sport has that. None of them are spared from embarrassment. Yes the NFL, NBA, and MLB has issues, but Association Football (soccer) has issues with racism and fans virtually killing eachother at matches. NO sport is perfect.
So please, just sit down, enjoy the game. You can talk a little smack, but don't smack so hard, it lands you behind bars...
