Kansas now has a major league sports team in the Wizards. I'm sorry you dont count it but it counts as MLS is the fastest growing sports league in the country and is gaining popularity like crazy. It has already overtaken NHL in many categories and will likely catch the NBA in the next several years.

The Wizards are currently building a 175 million dollar state of the art stadium in Kansas City, KS.

Wichita would not be able to support a major league team. No owner would be stupid enough to risk tens of millions on trying it.

And who knows, maybe they will decide to put one of the other major league teams on the kansas side for once like they finally decided to do with the wizards, but like an early post said, the kansas city mo. area would be nothing with out johnson and wyandotte county. so really we should count the chiefs and royals as our own.

We just paid nearly 500 million dollars to renovate Arrowhead and Kauffman. The Chiefs and Royals arent going anywhere.

I know the Missouri side is bigger, but how can Kansas residents not identify with clubs branded "Kansas City?" You have three teams now.

I think the OP was wanting a team located outside of KC such as Wichita or Topeka. It is never going to happen. The Kansas City teams are as good as it is going to get.

I highly doubt the MLS will catch the NBA within the next few years.

You're basing this on what? The MLS is growing extremely fast and has been gaining ground on all the sports leagues over the past few years. With the new CBA and several European stars poised to make moves to the MLS in the next few seasons, it is only a matter of time.

Chances are, you know very little to nothing about the MLS and are just making a statement based on how you think things are rather than actual knowledge about the MLS.
