Have any of you thought the Presedential elections take too long, cost a fortune and we end up with a TV image, a clever speaker, with half the country disenchanted.
Downunder in Australia, the National Prime Ministerial elections were called yesterday and will take place on August 21st.
Thats this year folks, just 5 weeks from now !!!
Non of this month after month of candidates cluttering up the TV, gatherings in Iowa, all before we get to the 2 party assault which goes on and on for another year.
To me its a total absurdity and we've ended up with Obama. Do more than 50% of voters think he's doing a good job. In recent times we've had Clinton, Kerry and GW Bush. All heavily criticised, but nearly 2 years under the microscope would kill most of us.....look in the mirror and ask yourself if your life is pure enough to consider a run for office

I remember the Bush/Kerry election in Branson. I voted at the Presbyterian Church up behind the Town Hall. Baptists and other denominations were ferrying bus loads of seniors down to the voting stations. The voting line was 200 yards long, incredible scenes for a small town. Bush managed around 70%, no surprise as Branson was a Conservative stronghold.
What now ? Will Obama lose ground in the elections later this year, who will take over the leaderless Rebublicans.
What do you all think and is our election process way too long, I think it is. Lets get an Ozark perspective, especially as we have a lot of new residents from other parts of the country.
