MoNative34, The majority of our water resources - whether dam or lock or river are managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Whether or not there are jobs available depends upon who manages the resource. The nearest lake to Springfield, and the only non-Corps managed lake in the four corner area, that I am aware of, is Grand Lake in Oklahoma. It is managed by the Grand River Dam Authority.

The most important thing to understand about dams is that few are managed locally by engineers who live on the body of water they manage. The Truman dam,reservloir and lake - the largest man made lake in the state - may well be managed by an engineer in St. Louis or KC or even New Orleans. US Army Corps of Engineers - HQ

The best place to apply for a job with the Corps is
