Brushrunner, you are a thief magnet. They get you in Springfield and they get you in the woods. I think I'd lock everything down, if I were you.

Yes, California has been overtaken in the large cities by thieves, charlatans, and damned fools. And that is just the elected officials! When my mother was in Cedars Sinai in the late '90s, I had to park a block or so away. You could no longer park around the hospital because of all of the Islamic threats to Jews and a Jewish hospital. (And, the hospital lots and parking were full.) I parked by a similar sign, only there were like 12 signs attached to the same post reminding everyone of "The Rules". All I could think of was that we were now living under the Roman Rule of the 10,000 laws of daily Roman living. We truly are not advancing as a society.

Naturally, they assumed you would have something good in there!

I've never had something taken and I've never had any kind of security service. When I lived in downtown Salem Oregon (in an *almost* nice neighborhood... nice except for a couple low income halfway house type complexes--) I didn't have a house key, but I still had to run errands and go grocery shopping during the day so I frequently left my townhouse unlocked and unattended for several hours.
That was luck.

Now I believe in lighting (thieves try to avoid well lit porches) and ferocious looking large dogs. (My Pyr mix mainly)
