I'm wanting to move to the Branson area and am a teacher. I'm familiar with the area to an extent- my mom lives in Branson. I know they're opening the elementary school at the College of the Ozarks for next year, but what other elementary schools are in the area? Not really Branson Public Schools, but what small towns are around that have schools that I could look into and it wouldn't be more than a 30 minute commute from North Branson?

Where is north Branson??? As in the north side of town? Either way schools districts within a 30 min drive of Branson consist of blue eye, ozark, reeds spring, galena, Hollister, kirbyville, forsyth in Missouri and omaha and Harrison in Arkansas. There are a couple more school districts that are really in the sticks close to 30 mins from Branson like lead hill mark twain ect. Just a heads up many of the rural school districts outside of town have a very high poverty rate and the schools are getting smaller. Not sure where you are from but I am just giving you a heads up. Watch the movie winters bone if you want to sorta get an idea of what life is like in these rural towns. Honestly the best school districts are either Branson or ozark. Kirbyville isn't to bad either and most of the kirbyville kids go to Branson as they don't have a high school there.

I don't think reeds spring schools are bad. They don't have as much money as branson, but I have friends that have gone there and it's not a bad school district. I believe reeds spring is still trying to pay off its bankruptcy bill, last I heard. Don't know how that effects the school.

I haven't heard anything about bankruptcy, but my daughters have been in the school district for 6 years now and I am quite impressed. They are much better than the schools in central Illinois lol.

The Reeds Spring citys bankruptsy has little to no affect on the operation of its school district. The school districts tax base includes with Reeds Spring, Branson West, Silver Dollar City, Kimberling City and Cape Fair.

Reeds Spring school district has always been more forward by implimenting the areas first vocational school in 1974 and Forsyth, Branson, Hollister, Blue Eye, Galena, Spokane, Sparta and Chadwick schools sent students to Reeds Spring on half day bases. IMHO
