Kearney is on the north side of town. I guess it depends where the job is located in Springfield- is it on Kearney? Are you looking for schools as well? You'll find nicer "resort" style apartments and hotels on the south side.

2Be...I agree with what others are saying. I live SE of Springfield in the country area of Sparta/Ozark. It takes me about 20 minutes to get to work in Springfield but my work is right on this end of town. On the other hand, if I were to work at the airport, it would be more like 45 minutes...or so GoogleMaps says. It's almost all highway to get to both locations.

I've talked to people who live in the north end of town who take streets to get to where I work on the SE end and they say it takes them 25 minutes to get to work. I hope that helps you to see what we're all suggesting.

Most of the colleges are on the north end so much of the dorm/college apartment options are up there, too. It is also the older part of town so many of the homes are older.

How'm I doin' folks? If I gave any info that needs to be clarified, jump right in.

Then again, have you already found something, 2Be?

My daughter lives in Sparta, and I wouldn't live there if they gave me the land free...

I live about 10 miles east of Fair Grove in the middle of no where. It takes me 30 minutes to get to my work place on Seminole and Glenstone. To get to east Kearney takes me about 20 minutes and from there it is just a matter of how much traffic there is. The south east side of Springfield is more congested than the north most of the time.
