Also, we had a 6-bedroom house in Rolla for $1,000/month. Some of my other friends had a 9-bedroom for $2,000/month. Houses could be had as low as $500/month in that town, and single apartments as low as $300/month. The rent market there is also slightly inflated because it is a college town, I'd imagine it would be cheaper in non-college towns, but slightly higher in Springfield.

So its less? $12.50hr? I called around and sent email's. LPN's are paid very well there they said.

I have no idea. I'm not a nurse, I'm an engineer. What I'm saying is that if my friend's wife got a job at $12.50/hour with zero experience and a two year degree, I'm sure it would be very easy for a more experienced person to make quite a bit more. In nearly every field of work, experienced people get paid more. If you are serious about moving to the Ozarks, rather than speculating and calling around, interview and see what kind of offers you get. I can't confirm this, but I remember hearing that experienced RN's in the area make $40-50k a year.
