Many apartments include water, sewer, internet service and cable tv with the rent. If not, expect to pay at least $25 to $50 a month for internet service, depending upon available providers. Cable TV by itself is $30 to $60 / month, depending upon the number of channels. You may be able to find a cable tv and internet package for $80 to $100 / month. Land line phone service can be as little as $15/month, but more and more people use just a cell phone instead starting at $30 / month. Data services can run that up rather a lot.

City Utilities provides water, sewer, gas, and electric in Springfield. Last time I checked I believe the minimum for water and sewer charges was around $30/month. Gas and electric for a small one bedroom apartment should average $125/month or less.

Renters contents and liability insurance is under $150 per year.

Car insurance and taxes will depend upon the car. For two drivers on one average car, maybe $400 every six months. Taxes will be about $300. Bad driving records, expensive or high performance cars will run that up rather a lot.
