How far can they actually be allowed to go with penalizing the Branson citizens with sales tax hikes because of the councils misspending & inefficiency?

We are already the highest taxed area in Missouri & they now want to raise sales tax to an incredulous 10.1%!!!!
Missouri (MO) Sales Tax Rates by City

It is time for the people of Branson to say enough is enough, it's OUR money you are spending!!!

PS, l've just been checking out this sales tax issue even more, & I have read that the maximum sales tax allowed in Missouri is 9.6%

Erm!!!!..........we're already at 9.6%, so they've (theoretically) reached their limit!?!?!? (unless you know different?)

That's troubling. With all the tourism you would think hardly any. The area is on our list.

You would think for being such a republican area of the state Branson would have low taxes. However the reason is pretty simple why the sales tax is so high is because of all the tourist, the city can take advantage of them and charge more sales tax.

The tax of 7.6% posted above is incorrect. Here is the tax rate - for Branson - as posted by the city of Branson.

It's as if Branson wants to survive and expand for the tourists on the backs of the residents. So much for loyalty for those of us who live in the city and the surrounding areas who keep it going during the off-season. Area appreciation days in the various theaters don't make up for it.

I bought my last vehicle in Arkansas so we can buy other goods as well. I have quit buying in Springfield for the same reasons.

Looking at property in the area. Say Branson West or some of the other towns near Branson do they have a high sale tax. Here in OK between the State and our city we're at 10 percent our self. I feel like I tithe at Walmart!

Motor vehicle sales taxes are based on the location of your residence, not where you purchase your vehicle.
