Branson is no worse than any other small town. The worst problem is meth heads who frequently break into cars and homes in the hopes of finding something worth pawning. I suggest for townies to have a good alarm system and people who live in the country a dog or two to deter these types of low lifes.

And if your car doesn't have an alarm, at least keep it locked. You'd think that would be a no-brainer, but apparently it's too hard to do for many.

People are like that where I live, they treat their car like a safety deposit box when actually it's like a Christmas present waiting to be opened. Someone on the news a while back had a cell phone, a gun and $400 stolen out of their car.

Another case to get rid of gun free zones! A lot of guns get stolen out of cars because you can't carry them into places like stadiums for example.

The good thing about MO carrying into most gun free zones if caught can only be given a citation for it. However when permitless conceal carry becomes law if you don't have a permit and carry into one of the gun free locations instead of getting just a citation you can now be arrested.

My motto is if they don't have metal detectors, carry on! Here in FL not like that because you will be arrested for carrying into gun free zones and in some cases it's a felony like if it's a college for example.

No, Branson is not unsafe. I have lived there. But, just like anywhere else, if you are looking for trouble you will find it. Most crimes are drug and alcohol-related, so if you stay away from drugs and aren't a belligerent drunk, you'll be fine.

Also in a matter of days you won't need a permit to carry concealed in Missouri so if you move there, and don't currently have any ccw permit you don't have to worry.

Except worrying about untrained gun bearers who don't know the laws and may not have idea-1 about gun safety or even how to shoot.
