We finally made it to Branson and was wondering the opinion of the two. I know Taneycomo is more like a river but it's soo pretty. For real estate investment, should we stick to Table Rock? It doesn't look like many condos/townhomes are available on Taneycomo. There are a few that are pretty reasonable and riverfront but probably for a reason?

Thanks...

I'd invest on table rock lake. There are more things to do and it's more developed. If you are getting a place to relax for yourself, maybe taneycomo as it will be cheaper.

Table Rock Lake is better. It is cleaner, has more attractions near it and is nicer.

Be sure to check out the flood zone issues on any lake. The housing on Taneycomo is nearly all in the flood zone which, even if it doesn't actually flood, will require flood insurance. The flood zones on Table Rock are much more limited. They're close to each other so if you want to fly fish you go to Taneycomo...it's freezing cold all year so nobody swims. Table Rock warms up by June each year so is a great recreation lake...including fishing, boating, watersports, boat-up dining, etc.

Find a guide to help you that really knows the area.
