Can anyone tell me the location where they do the driving portion of the motorcycle license test in or near Springfield? Surrounding counties would be fine, as well. I'm not talking about the office location, but the actual location where they do the testing. I'd like to lurk and watch a session before I go in for my test. I was thinking maybe they used the parking lot at OTCC where they have the pavement marked out for the motorcycle safety course offered there, but when I dropped by about the time testing would have been done, cars were parked in the lot.

Just call the police station, or likely even the license office and ask them. I imagine they will tell you. I think it may be at the OTC course and you just didn't see any exams going at the time you went there. I doubt this time of year many are taking the test.

The day I went past it was in the 50s so the weather was decent enough for testing, but the parking lot had a bunch of cars scattered around. That makes me think they must have a different location. I guess I can call and ask, but from what I've seen elsewhere they don't want people watching before they take the test. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask.

You may be right, they may not want folks watching. Anyway, good luck on the test and ride safe. I am sure a lot more nervous these days on the bike than I was years ago. I ride mostly on the state highways now and avoid Springfield traffic when possible.

If your just killing time, head south on Hwy 125 off 60 East, and ride to the ferry. It crosses Bull Shoals into Arkansas, and you can loop around or come back over the ferry again. It is a fun ride, a good section of twisties, and a nice café or two on the Arkansas side for coffee or chow.

Peace.
