Anyone here ever hear of Spook Light? Did you ever go check it out? Did you see it?

https://www.joplinmo.org/575/The-Spook-Light

I guess I could've/should've put this in the paranormal forum...but it's a part of Missouri/Oklahoma history...so I thought I'd put it here.

I've been to this area twice, and both times, yes, I saw Spook Light. My dad grew up in this area, and often took girls on dates to this area, and saw Spook light. My mom was one of those girls, and SHE saw Spook Light.

When I was there, it was with my dad and uncle, and my siblings, and a couple of cousins. So about 8 to 10 people. We all saw it, but it only seemed to come about half way down the road. Also, when I saw it, it was about the size of a softball, and it bobbed back and forth, from one side of the road to the other, as it would make it's way down the road.

When my mom and dad were there, they were parked and in their vehicle, and the light came rushing at them, and then went up and over the car. Scared the bejeezus out of them.

A couple of my older cousins reported that they were walking on the road, toward the light, when it came rushing toward them fast, so they turned around and started running. The light overtook them, and like with the car, went up and over them.

So anyway, I thought it'd be fun to see if anyone else ever had any experiences with Spook Light.

The Spook Light is real and I saw it as a teen. I don't remember it ever moving fast at all. It only hovered and moved very slowly when I saw it and wasn't at all scary to me. I always assumed it was some sort of reflection or luminous/phosphorous light that was a natural occurrence. But, I am not a believer in spirits walking the roads with lanterns.

I saw the Farrenburg Ghost Light in SE Missouri way back in 1970, I think. It moved sideways back and forth but not closer. Never saw the one in Joplin. There are several.
