If a low around 0 is bitterly cold, I would be afraid for you guys living in half of the country. I live in the Colorado mountains and we have had multiple cold snaps the last couple years in which lows were around -10 to -20. I don't even live at a high elevation.

I remember living in Iowa as a kid, and we would have days of negative temperatures every winter, and quite a few. I remember days of -35 with the windchill.

I know that this is an old thread, but I was reading it and thought I would chime in. It is January 12th and the high for the day in Springfield is 66 degrees, I am jealous of that.

It is all about tastes...

Some people would find anywhere in Missouri worse than anywhere in California, others like myself see just about any area of the country an improvement over California. And these are just opinions, which are fine to share, lets just not turn it into an argument like it does in most threads.

You are correct, It is all about tastes...

I spent three days visiting Riverside, CA. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, never went back. Southwest Missouri suits me just fine. After I past 75 years of age a few years back, I just don't go outside below 50 degrees or above 80 degrees F. Works for me.
