Does anyone know of any good jobs in Springfield? I am asking for $10/hr. Believe it or not I have been looking all summer and haven't found anything. I have had a few interviews but nothing that wants to pay.

I am currently in retail management and wan't relocate to Springfield so that I can finish college.

NRoden...
My experience with trying to make a living in Springfield has been that sales () or serving () are the best paid "unskilled" jobs I found. There are a gazillion restaurants & bars, and assorted outside sales jobs that may sound unappealing but will be a vehicle to get you where you want to go.
Can you tolerate people?
That's the real trick...
Find something you like...and find a place that needs folks to sell it.
That way it will be tolerable to you!
F'r instance...ya like cars? Try O'Reilly's or some outside sales position with car parts.
Ya like wine? Talk to the liquor distributors.
Lots and lots of biznesses have outside sales peeps.
It's tough, but...
Wha's the plan for school?
(Just curious!)

$10/hr--you must be dreaming for Springfield. Now you have discovered why rent is so cheap there, along with most everything else. A "good" wage for Springfield is $8/hr, and even that is hard to find. Factory work will get you above $10, depending on experience, but most all of those jobs are done through Manpower--you may want to try getting involved with them.
Another place that pays what you are looking for is the credit card company (I forget which one, it's a big one and just off of South Campbell on Republic Road). You must have a good credit score to work there, though, no matter how impeccable your job record is.
I'm not saying that 'unskilled' jobs for $10/hr don't exist in Springfield, they are just extremely rare. On top of that, if they do pay that much, it's usually because they have high turnover from job dissatisfaction--be wary, that's all I'm saying. Best of luck!

You might try some of the local telemarketing companies. They offer flexible schedules for students and the opportunity to make more than $10/hr.

My daughter made very good money at MCI. As I said in my above post, you can make decent money in this area, but not if you just want to plug in to a no-brainer behind-the-counter job.
For anyone who is able to face their fears, I strongly suggest some kind of outside sales. It's not that bad!
