Planned a visit to Springfield before relocating there, but have sold our house sooner than expected and now cannot visit before moving! Can someone point us in the right direction for a nice apartment complex for quiet empty nesters plus four legged furry "child"? We will have to make arrangements long distance, by phone, and arrive along with our moving truck. Can't believe we are doing this, it's kind of scary but exciting. Have never been to Springfield, so we have no idea of which areas might best suit us. Hubby retired, I am an RN, so plan to work at one of the hospitals, but do not need to be right on top of one. We like to casual bicycle, leisure walk, and enjoy life at a slower pace. Thank you so much for any help you can give us. Closing and leaving Nov. 16th!!!! Thank you.

I would look for something on the South side of town. The nature center, which has a nice trail for walking/backing is on the southeast side. Not sure about apartment complexes. I haven't been in one since college, and I wouldn't recommend any of those! Good luck!

My wife and I moved into Lakeshore Apartments when we moved here in 1999. It is in Southwest Springfield and pretty convenient to most everything. The apartments were nice at the time. We had a cat and that wasn't a problem.

Wink excited about move

Thanks for your replies. We have decided on a complex on the southwest part of Springfield. It is only temporary, lease is for 6 months only. We need time to get used to the area and learn which areas best suit us. Have been reading this site for several months now, and I must say, you folks are the friendliest of any state we looked at. Being originally from Illinois, moving to Missouri isn't too scary, just moving without having been to the area is kind of nerve wrecking. We raised our kids just on the other side of the river from Cape Girardeau. We are currently in Florida and my family wants to go back, but not to where they were raised. The economy is not the best there for young adults just starting careers. Well, thank again, and will continue to read and enjoy your insights of the Springfield area.

Default Welcome to Springfield

Hope you find the Ozarks a great place to live, my wife is also an RN, I myself am a loan officer at a bank in Springfield.

We have lived in the area for the last 20 years or so and thoroughly enjoy this area, both of us growing up all over our dads being in the military.

We live in Ozark, MO ourselves and commute to Springfield.

I am fairly new to this site so just now responding to your post but if you should have any questions now that your here please feel free to ask.
