As already stated, Andy Williams puts on a pretty good holiday show but he is getting on in years so if you have kids with you they may get wiggly. The Haygoods put on a great show.....a bunch of very very talented young adults.

I went to the Mel Tillis's Christmas special a few years back and it was good although this year his daughter (Pam) won't be here with him.

I've heard good things about the Dixie Stampede but haven't been there myself.

Most of the "visiting" entertainment groups put on a heck of a show.

I have to admit I'm not wild about the "hee-haw" entertainment many of the shows insert into their acts, but most of it has become minimal unless that type of entertainment is their venue. The exception I've recently seen was Pierce Arrow. The musical group is wonderful, but the comedian is hysterical...even if it is sort of cornball.

Shopping....it's sort of what you get anywhere else. The Landing is nice to walk around, have a meal or a drink. Watch the water show and any entertainment they may be having, but the shopping is what you find in most any mall but still can be fun. The Tanger Outlet mall has some nice stores, but nothing you won't find in other outlets. Some of the craft malls have some interesting things.....depending on what type of shopping you might be looking for.

Hey all, I live in Missouri and do a lot of traveling through forums and so forth on the web. I gotta be honest - it seems like most of the Christmas shows in Branson are all about bright lights and fake smiles sometimes.

Nothing against the people, just not my kind of gig, you know?

Last year, I found out about a family show called "Simply Christmas" featuring The Allen Family. They are a family of 10 who travel year-round in a converted bus. (Yes, you read that right!) Not only is the show great for all ages, but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly! They're a very talented family and lots of fun to watch!

When I started work in Branson 1990, there was no Christmas season. End of October and you were on tour or shooting deer.
I love Christmas in Branson, the drive through lights, the Christmas shows and I dont care who smiles and why. The atmosphere is what people come for.
The Veterans week, another NEW phenomenom was not even a tourist event in 1990, now it joins the Fall, Christmas seasons and very successfully extends the Branson tourist season.
I enjoy the Fall, Veterans and Christmas seasons more than any other part of the year.
I may be old fashioned, but I BELIEVE !
God Bless America !

The Shepard of the Hills light show is a blast and the whole atmosphere just makes it good this time of year. Heading up this weekend actually.

You are right with this---the Allen family is PHENOMENAL!!!! When I lived up in South Dakota, they came to our church at Brandon Valley Baptist Church every year. Loads of fun and wow--TALK ABOUT TALENTED!!
