How about the Washington, Hurricain, LaVerkin area. Am relocating and haven;t seen much discussion. They appear about 10-20 miles from St George. Drive time 30 minutes?

Wish I knew too. I would love to go back to Utah..St George area. Hope the home prices go down in three years and we might go back.

Cities
Washington is next to St George, about 10 minutes on I-15, the Hurricane is about 15 minutes. They are not metropolis's by any means.Lived in Washington City for 2 years. That was enough for me, then moved.

We lived in Washington City for about two years as well and we really loved it there. Washington runs right into St. George. Hurricane is about 15-20 minutes and LaVerkin is on the other side of Hurricane. Hurricane IS a nice little place that has experienced a lot of growth lately as well. If it wasn't so far out we would have most likely moved out there.

What area do you think has the most reasonable home prices? How big of a town is Hurricane and how far is Cedar City from St. George. I lived in Northern Utah for years...Layton area but not real familiar with southern Utah but interested in moving there.

Right now "reasonable" and "home prices" don't necessarily go together lol! Although home prices ALL over St. George are going down.
Cedar is a VERY nice place to live. We lived there for quite a while too and really enjoyed it there. We left there to be closer to my family for awhile and help my mom. If we hadn't moved we would likely still be there. Home prices in Cedar are very reasonable right now. Cedar is smaller than St. George but has grown quite a bit in the last few years as well. If you are considering a move to Southern Utah I would definitely look at Cedar as an option. It is close enough to St. George that you can be here in 45 minutes if needed. It doesn't get nearly as hot in the summers and gets snow in the winters.
Hurricane is close as well but you get the hot heat in the summers too. It is very close to Zion's and Bryce Canyon. I would say there are maybe 20,000 in Hurricane. Maybe a little less. The Hurricane city boundaries are actually VERY expansive.

I don't think there are anywhere close to 20,000 residents in Hurricane..I was just out there yesterday and well, no way...the Washington County website probably has all those stats, I'll see if I can check it out. Hurricane is very spread out, maybe makes it seem like more people than it really is.
for OUR taste, Hurricane is just too far from shops, restaurants, etc...we live in Washington City (Green Spring) and it's really very convenient here to the 15, costco a mile away, along with home depot, walmart, etc...
Anyone interested, our house is for sale, would love to find a buyer soon! Yes prices are dropping out of the sky and we have followed suit..we love the area after a period of adjustment, but our sons are in CA, so we need to move back home, I never realized how much I would miss those guys.

20,000 was totally a guesstimate on my part rofl! I saw that in 2000 there was around 8000 residents and I KNOW it has grown a ton since then. The borders start at that light on your way to Hurricane, so those townhomes there on the right are Hurricane. Coral Canyon is Washington City but everything else out there is in the Hurricane boundaries.

Excuse me! Above figures incorrect. IF it has continued to grow at the projected rate, this would be around 5% per anum. A HOT growing market is one which sustains about 6-7% per anum growth so a 5% figure could be realistic.If the town has maintained consistent steady growth year after year over the past 7 years, this would put current population at around 11,000.
