I'm trying to plan a road trip to St. Louis. What do y'all think is the best time of year to visit your fair city?

Well weatherwise, definetly Fall or Spring. More specifically, mid-September to early-Novermber or early-April to late-May.

It's gorgeous here right now and there are a ton of special events/festivals in September and October from Taste St. Louis and the Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden to the Balloon Festival and the Best of Missouri Market, etc. May is lovely too. Check St. Louis, MO: Official Travel Information or ArtsZipper Arts and Culture Calendar for events. If you have specific interests, let me know and I can suggest a good time of year for those.

October is the best month in MO. It gets the least amount of precip on average of any month, the fall colors are gorgeous (you must see Forest Park in the fall!) and there's just a ton going on.

May would be a very close second.

Any month that's not January. Spring, Summer, and Fall are great because there is an infinate number of things going on around town. Mardi Gras is a MAJOR event here too. So you might want to come the first week in March.

Never! Just kidding. Weather wise, spring or fall. I don't really keep up with the events around here, but I think that a lot of things are happening in September and/or October.

Thanks for all the replies. September or October sounds perfect. Maybe I'll start planning for 2011

Weather wise,
Late Spring, Summer, and Early Fall definately because of the nice and warm weather. Summer is alittle humid.

Mid fall, Early Spring, and Mid Spring I also think are really good times to visit. Temps are just alittle chilly. Mid fall and Mid Spring I think are better than Early Spring.

Late Fall and Winter i'd say are ok times to visit missouri, but temps are freezing cold
