Over the years I have driven through St. Louis on various road trips and the Missouri gas prices have always been among the cheapest. Now that I've moved here, it no longer seems to be true. I've been flying to New Mexico a few times a month and all fall and winter the gasoline has been cheaper there--as much as 20 cents a gallon less for regular.

Is Missouri bargain gas a thing of the past? Is it only cheap in comparison to Illinois?

We are always well below the national average quoted on the news. The only other places I've lived are Illinois, Indiana, and New York--all were more expensive.

Well it's cheaper than anywhere else I've lived, so I'll take it.

There's really no such thing as cheap gas anywhere anymore!

My inlaws live North of Chicago and 5-10 years ago they used to always waited to fill up when they crossed into Missouri. Up to $1.00 difference at one point. Now... the prices are comparable.
