My wife and I are expecting our first child at the end of April, and we're hoping to take a "babymoon" sometime in February. One last getaway with just the two of us.

Can anyone recommend any nice (but affordable) weekend getaways for such an occasion? B&B/nice hotel? We live in St. Louis, and are hoping we can find somewhere relaxing within about a 90 minute drive (any direction).

Thanks for any ideas!

Both Hermann and Ste. Genevieve are adorable old towns with B&B options and both are an easy drive from St. Louis. Columbia has a great downtown and several B&B options.

Carbondale is a bit farther, but also a great option. Gorgeous country down there.

The gf and I stayed here once: Bed & Breakfast surrounded by Ozark mountains.

It was really nice and dinner was excellent. I would highly recommend getting dinner there because there is literally nothing nearby. But the area is really quaint, picturesque, and charming.

I enjoy Pere Marquette. A beautiful drive along the river. Not too far.

Along the same lines but actually pretty close to St. Louis is the Chimney Rock Guest House in Imperial near Kimmswick. You can eat at the Blue Owl while you are there!

There's always Lake of the Ozarks. You can stay at the Lodge of the Four Seasons or Tan-Tar-a
