RFT: "Young Smarties "Choosing" Rust Belt Over Sun Belt"

It may or may not be a trend, but not all "young smarties" will go along. While I'm often praised for being wise beyond my years, couldn't deal with the Gulf/Atlantic hurricanes and dislike the TN's social/political environment, I still prefer Sun Belt over Rust Belt due to climate, vegetation, daylight hours and sun angle.

Plus, I find modern colossal cities like Nashville/Murfreesboro and DFW appealing. The Sun Belt has many of those. Rust Belt cities aren't growing as quickly and tend to be older.

A lot of sun belt cities are starting to get overcrowded and their costs of living are rising. Climate-wise, I St. Louis isn’t that cold and certainly isn’t as cold as a place like Detroit or Cleveland.

Maybe not to you, but it's still cold enough that hardy palms (while not impossible to grow) struggle. Not to mention pansies wouldn't last through the winter sometimes. I find it hard to deal with the deciduous foliage, even when I do have something to counteract it; I can only imagine what it'd be like without stuff to counteract it.
