It is unfortunate that St. Louis has such a small downtown for a metro area its size. I was just in Denver which is about the same sized metro area, and its downtown is vast compared to St. Louis's.

Tell me about it.

I've lived in Austin & nearby Round Rock since 1959 and have watched it change from a relatively sleepy college town of 180,000 to being the congested center of an overrun metro area of 1.5 million expats of all kinds.

Some of that is good, some is not so good.

All because national media kept trumpeting what a great place it is.

I wish they had just kept quiet.

Wouldn't know about St.Louie, as I haven't been back there since 1960.
